Walters Testifies Before MD House Committee on Paid Sick Leave Mandate
Ms. Walters returned to Annapolis this year to again testify on behalf of the Maryland SHRM State Council, Inc. (MD SHRM) in opposition to House Bill 01, Health Working Families Act. While MD SHRM supports employment policies and practices that support employees in meeting their needs for work-life integration, a paid leave mandate, one-size-fits all may have unintended consequences. In a recent survey conducted by MD SHRM, more than 85% of the respondents opposed this bill. Ms. Walters serves in a volunteer leadership role as Gov’t Affairs Director for MD SHRM.
