New Form I-9: Do You Know?
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services published the new Form I-9 on January 31st. Employers may use the new form now. Employer must use the new Form effective May 1, 2020. You can download the new form here.
Question: Can I let my Spanish-speaking employees complete the Spanish version of the Form I-9?
Answer: Only employers and employees in Puerto Rico can complete the Spanish version of Form I-9. Spanish-speaking employers and employees in the 50 states and other U.S. territories may print this for their reference, but must complete the form in English to meet employment eligibility verification requirements.
