ICE Extends Remote I-9 Rule Yet Again

On August 18th the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced another extension of the flexibilities in rules related to Form I-9 compliance that was granted earlier this year. The new expiration date is September 19, 2020.

This rule permits employers to view Form I-9 documents remotely if the employer’s workplace is working 100% remotely.  If any employee is working at the employer’s physical location, the flexibility rule does not apply.
