EEO-1 Portals Opens With a Shorter Reporting Window!
The 2024 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection opened on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The deadline to file the 2024 EEO-1 Component 1 report is Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
This is a shorter collection period than in prior years. Additionally, all communications sent to filers will be electronic. No notifications about the 2024 collection will be sent to filers via postal mail.
Filers should visit the dedicated EEO-1 Component 1 website to access the filing system, to find supplementary resource materials, and to get the latest updates.
Who must file? Private employers with 100 or more employees must still file. That’s no surprise and is the same as in the past. But this one surprised me. Covered federal contractors with 50 to 99 employees must also still file. Why? I’m not sure! The EEOC website cites the source of the obligation to file as Exec. Order No. 11246. But that was revoked under Executive Order by President Trump on January 21st. In the meantime, if you are a small, covered federal government contractor, plan to file your report, too.
