FMLA Updates: What’s Old is New Again

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) has brought a lot of attention to the emergency paid sick leave (EPSL) and emergency Family and Medical Leave (EFML) provisions.  What is addressed less often is the interplay these new paid leave benefits have with the existing Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Add to that, FMLA issues have continued to challenge employers since this topic last aired in February 2019. Join this interactive program as we review news, cases, guidance and DOL Opinion letters from the last 14 months addressing:

  • FMLA interference & retaliation claims
  • Interplay of FMLA, EPSL and EFML (with a little ADA thrown in for fun!)
  • Who gets to designate leave as FMLA, when and how
  • Top three FMLA violations
  • Documentation issues
  • Reinstatement rights

This program is pre-approved by HRCI and SHRM for 1.25 credits.
