OSHA Publishes New Guidance on COVID-19 & Protecting Workers
On January 29th, OSHA published, “Protecting Workers: Guidance on Mitigating and Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in the Workplace.” OSHA explains, “[t]he recommendations are advisory in nature, informational in content, and are intended to assist employers in providing a safe and healthful workplace.” They include and are not limited to:
- Implement a COVID-19 prevention program, including no-retaliation provisions
- Provide employees with face coverings, requiring them and non-employees in the workplace to wear them.
- Make vaccines available at no-cost to eligible employees.
- Do not distinguish between employees who have and have not been vaccinated.
