OSHA Announces Additional Reporting Requirements for Certain Employers

OSHA announced effective January 1, 2024, employers with at least 100 employees and that operate in certain “high hazard” industries will have to electronically submit information from their Form 300-Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses, and Form 301-Injury and Illness Incident Report to OSHA once a year.

This is in addition to the current requirements for electronic submission of information from Form 300A for establishments with 20-249 employees in certain high-hazard industries and from establishments with 250 or more employees in industries that not otherwise exempt from OSHA’s recordkeeping rules.

As of this writing, OSHA intends for March 2, 2024, to be the first submission deadline for the new information required to be submitted under this rule. The final rule is scheduled to be published July 21, 2024. In the interim, the 319-page unpublished rule is here.
