Mandatory Paid Vacation: Coming to a Town Near You?
Maine just became the first state to enact paid leave. The Governor announced that it’s not just sick leave; it’s paid leave for any reason. Might this be the start of a new trend? At least ten states, the District of Columbia and 18 local jurisdictions have a law mandating paid sick leave. Employers might partner with their state and/or local chambers of commerce, professional and trade associations to stay abreast of these and other legislative trends.
